Leah Schell Cards & Prints
Leah Schell is a Greater Vancouver based artist who paints in watercolour and acrylic ink. Her work is influenced by the European and Scandinavian illustrators of the Golden Age of Illustration, the 19th-early 20th century: Rackham, Dulac, Bauer, Poortvliet, and Potter, to name a few. This period of illustration combined with world folklore and customs, the flora and fauna of the West Coast of B.C., and the fantasy and whimsy of the Fairy Realm, inform much of Leah's subject matter. Drawing on these sources she endeavours to expand upon these themes while infusing them with her own voice, style, and interpretations.
