White Sage & Copal Smudge Small (5")

This unique smudge blends white sage leaves with resin granules for a 2-in-1 cleansing combo! Measuring 4-5" in length, the bundle is composed of tightly wound sage leaves and copal resin powder or granules inside that burn together when lit.

Copal resin, much prized by the ancient Mayans, who said that it was extracted from the tree of life, is very cleansing and creates an excellent space for spiritual work.

Sage (salvia apiana) is from the Latin word "salvare," which means to heal. This natural, freshly picked white sage has long been used in smudging ceremonies. It promotes purification, protection and immortality. It is also used to cleanse negative thoughts and the dark from people, objects, and dwelling places. Sage will help connect to the healing powers of Mother Earth.

Ignite the leaves, blow out flame and the sage will release a cloud of white, purifying smoke. Place in a fire-proof container or abalone shell, or use as a wand to spread the smoke around your home or cleansed space. When you're finished with the sage, cover it with sand and leave it in the container. When you want to use the bundle again, just shake the sand off.
